Nancy Amidon’s 2-Day Open Workshop Notions and Supply List
Open Workshop means you will not have a class project, which is considered an advantage because you don’t have to start a new project, but will be working on your own project for our show. This requires a few hours of prep on your part. If you need help getting ready for the open workshop, contact Janet Wachter. The more prepared you are, the more you will get out of the class.
This technique class is particularly valuable because it focuses solely on the edge of the appliqué figures. Making the turned edge look as clean, smooth, and as polished as possible elevates the visual quality of your appliqué.
Note that sewing machines or hand needles will not be used. You will be cutting out templates, ironing them to fabric, starching, gluing etc. Instruction will include specific help with the most challenging sizes and shapes in appliqué. Nancy will be doing many demos to help you with all of this.
You do not need to know how to appliqué with a sewing machine or with a hand needle to benefit from this class. This class teaches you the prep necessary before you take the first stitch.
We would love to have you join us whether you’ve been appliquéing for decades or whether you are new to appliqué.
Email Janet Wachter at firstname.lastname@example.org, if you have questions or if you want to put your name on the wait list.
